Friday’s slashing mirrored a fatal stabbing in the Bronx last Saturday, when an argument between two straphangers escalated into a deadly stabbing.

The 33-year-old victim, Nigel Dumas, was arguing with Shane Cunnison, 37, about 3:30 p.m. aboard a northbound No. 2 train at the Third Avenue – 149th St. Station when Cunnison grabbed a knife away from Dumas and plunged it into his chest twice, cops said.

Police cuffed Cunnison later that day on the charge of first-degree manslaughter.

But Cunnison’s lawyer, Alexandra Katz, blamed Dumas for instigating the attack, saying he menaced her client and that the knife used in the stabbing belonged to the victim.
